B-24J-145-CO

A 493rd BG Original assigned to the 861st Squadron as letter B.

Any missions with the 493rd are not known to me.

Transferred to the 34th BG between June 7th and June 14th 1944, assigned to the 4th Squadron as D/I.

Arrived at Mendlesham at 1540 hours on June 11, 1944.

Said to be formerly with 493BG as “European Clipper.” (this according to Wally Forman) BUT

This is NOT the “European Clipper” on B24BestWeb site with 493BG as that was a Ford built plane.
