From Hardstand #1 but failed to take off when a broken oil line was discovered at the take-off point.

Also reported landing gear light out, #3 and #4 generators out and the interphone for top turret out. Inspected and repaired.

Was to fly position 1-3 in High Squadron.

After switching planes and reaching the formation, found his place filled by the Holmes crew and joined the airborne spares, returning with them at mid-channel.

Carried 12 500 lb bombs. Brought all bombs back to base.

No damage reported.
