A 34th BG Original.

 

This plane was flown to England by the Noble Wright crew but was transferred to the 486BG before they ever flew a mission in it. For the Wright crew it was replaced by 42-52755 which was also named Dynamite ‘N Dodo.

Flew Lead of a 493BG Squadron attacking Juvincourt.

Carried 6 500 lb bombs and dropped on Primary target at 0840 hours from 21,100 feet.

No battle damage reported.

Landed at Mendlesham at 1032 hours. No equipment problems reported.

Flew Lead of a 493BG Squadron, Group A, target Oriel

Carried 6 500 lb bombs but did not drop. Conflicting reports blame faulty GH equipment & a rack malfunction – racks frozen.

Landed at Mendlesham at 1550 hours with #2 engine out. Engine to be changed.
